Thursday morning coffee talk...

The second week of Charley's school year is in full swing and we still haven no homework.  Not sure if this is a blessing or a bummer.  I was all set to get a smooth homework routine going.  He says next week.  Then next week it is.

We are on our second week with Miss Grace.  She knows us now.  Is napping, taking bottles, playing, and going with the flow nicely.  Syd squats down and says "Hi" in this high pitched voice over and over when Grace is in her carseat waiting for us to go...where ever we are going to go.  It is adorable.

My favorite show Parenthood started on Tuesday night.  Do you watch?  If not, you should.  AMAZING.  My moment this week was when the mom said, "She is never going to live in our house again."  when talking to her husband about their daughter going off to college.  GEEZ!  Every week they know how to make you laugh, cry, - RELATE.

I took two weeks off from working out but made it to barbell class on Monday and met with my trainer on Wednesday morning.   If you see me and I am walking like a robot or doing anything to keep from squatting down...well that's why.  GEEZ!  Taking time off hurts.  But it feels good to be back in the swing of things and excited to have a more normal workout routine.  Proud of myself for fitting it in as consistently as I did with travel this summer.

Henry had his second day of preschool yesterday.  He did great.  This month I am juggling Sydney and   Grace during drop offs and pick ups and it gets overwhelming.  Two people finally spoke up and asked how close together my two littles were yesterday.  HA!  I explained that Grace wasn't mine.  Grace is nearly 9 months and Syd is 19 months.  Technically, they could be mine...but holy moly.  That would be crazy.  Henry's teachers got to see me get a little teary trying to figure out how to drop him off in the most graceful smooth manner.  There are moments when I can tell my boys think I am nuts...and yesterday Henry gave me that look.  But I think we have it all figured out.  We will rock these drop offs for the rest of the month.

Have you seen the preview you tube video for Downton Abby coming this winter.
OOOO!  Can't wait.

We made lots of banana bread muffins this week.  But here's the exciting part.  I cut out the oil and used applesauce and I cut the sugar in half!  And everyone is still devouring them!  WOO HOO!

Syd had her 18 month appointment yesterday morning.  She is on her own little growth curve ...that involves hanging out at 6% for weight.  She is a peanut.  And we love her.  Thank goodness Ed was there yesterday because the appointment was at 8am...which meant we walked in with four kiddos. We talked to our doctor about Sydney's challenge to stay OFF the kitchen table.  He suggested a little time out action.  So the pack and play that I have set up in the front room for Miss Grace will now also be Syd's take a break spot.  Teaching the word no is so important but man, is it hard.  What's easy for the mama isn't what's best for the child.  And that is the hardest part about saying no.  This week we tackled our playset ladder and slide!  Now she hightails it back there any chance she gets.

Syd plays kitchen.  And it makes me grin.

Charley is in the throws of his flag fooball season.
He is loving it.  Game one last weekend .... game two on Saturday.

The days fly by with two nappers who work it that one goes down after the other wakes.
Making life at home the place to be.
And every once in a while we get a moment where all three of them are up and ready to play.

Cooler temps are heavenly.  Fall - we are ready for you.  Winter --not so much.  But fall.
Apples are on my list this weekend.  Must. get.

Earlier this morning I posted a kid activity.  So check that out too.

I took off the thing that makes you type the weird word in order to comment.  I had been getting a bunch of spam so I added that step to the commenting process...but man, is it annoying.  So it is not there again.  Would love to hear a hello today from you, and you, and you!

Tell me what's for dinner?  Or link me to your favorite recipe these days!

We are having leftover spaghetti tonight. One of my favorite breakfast, lunch or dinner things to make/eat is egg mcmuffins! Just toast an english muffin, put on a piece of cheese, microwave a small jimmy deans breakfast sausage patty and fry up an egg - put it together and bam - yummy and everybody likes it (or pieces of it!). My goodness, you are a brave soul to be looking after another little sweetie. I am really impressed! My guys started preschool last week too (two different classes) and I hear you on the tricky drop-offs with lots of extra little hands to hold.

Dinner tonight is...date night! So mac and cheese for the kids and then Indian food for my husband and I after they're in bed. So excited.

Always fun to catch up with you, Sarah!

So fun to see my little G pop up on here. I am so amazed at how you're able to juggle all those kids. And too funny about the person asking how far apart your girls are. Ha! Thinking Grace will take care of any baby cravings you might have. :) Fall is in full swing at your house with the projects, baking and football. ~Kim
