Change is a comin'

SUMMER......

Don't cry because it is over.  Be happy that it happened.
-Dr. Seuss

I wish so badly I could grab some sort of magical binoculars and look into the upcoming weeks and see  that after manipulating our way through some tired and overwhelming first days of school...we will strike a new rhythm in our house that will beat steady and consistent.
I wish I could see that Charley will get to school smoothly and Henry will get to school smoothly.  I wish I could see that Henry will survive the diminished brother time that he thrives on so dearly.   But that he will find this time to keep figuring out who he is without his brother's influence.
I wish I could be reassured that we will find a making lunches, packing backpacks, getting homework done system for Mr. Chuck that is calm and successful.
I wish I could see that family dinners will begin to find their way back into our nightly routine and that family meetings might reappear on Sundays.

This summer has been busy but it has also been not so busy.  This month has been a gift.  I have woken up almost every morning this August and been able to make the call on what we were going to do based on our wants and needs.  We didn't have commitments, places we had to be, and it made for a perfect end of the summer.

Summer is ending quickly here.  As the boys ate their lunch I reminded them that their weekday lunches were coming to an end quickly.

Change is good.
Change is all we can count on.
Change challenges us and makes us appreciate the blessings in our lives.
The wind is blowing in some change....
but we still have a few more summer adventures lined up.

Today, I am aware of the change ahead.
And we mamas have to prepare, think out, strategize, and embrace the now...and the upcoming now.

How are you feeling about the season ahead?
Cooler weather...school starting...etc.

Any topics that you'd like to read about on here...

We had kindergarten open house tonight and it hit me like a ton of bricks that my life is about to change drastically! So excited to see him go off to school - so much in store for him - but I sure will miss him!

A few more things I am looking forward to are cooler weather, an upcoming family vacation, and FOOTBALL!
