Then Ed and I ventured to Seattle, a business trip for Ed and a little get away for me. There is a Starbucks on every corner and I got hooked. Then I got pregnant and that little splurge had to go on hold. Well, I did indulge from time to time. But I soon realized how quickly a little trip to a coffee shop can add up. So I started wondering how I could learn to make a latte...
A friend has a fancy espresso maker that is a bit too pricey for my taste at this point. But my brother's girlfriend has a Bialetti stove top coffee pot. I pondered and wondered if I could handle the percolator like coffee maker. I worried with the distraction of children if I would be able to watch the pot so that it didn't explode coffee all over. And so I hesitated.
But then I decided to write to Bialetti and ask them about their coffee pots. And they were so gracious and offered to send me their 3-cup Moka Express coffee pot so that I could try it and share my journey perfecting a latte at home.
So in the next few weeks - as I work on the "science of a latte"...I will be sharing in my journey.
Already, I am learning a "latte."
