Blogging?

So I started this blog for my boys. I still write it for my boys. I also write it for myself. It is a way for me to reflect on my day, find those moments that are meaningful or memorable, and it is a creative outlet. I also LOVE reading blogs. They inspire me to try and cook better, be a better mom, and to look at life with a more positive outlook. What is blogging? Here is one definition. The key word today that stands out to me is interactive. It states, "The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs." I will admit that I do not leave a ton of comments on many of the blogs I read but I am trying really hard to comment more often. I am finding that these people, who I don't even know, will respond and email me after I comment. It is so cool. I know I write mostly as a journal about our day, which doesn't invite too much interactive energy...but I would like my blog to be more interactive. Whether I know you or don't know you - whether you read my blog because it is linked on a friends blog or whatever....take a chance and comment. It does not say compliment -You do not have to agree. It says comment...so just tell me something about your day, give your opinion, a thought, a response, ...etc. Just say hi! I will try and write more interactively. Those friends who have become followers, email me, or leave a comment - you make my day. You motivate me to write more. Thank you!

So to encourage some interactive-ness....leave a comment telling me what you are thankful for today and I will have Charley pick a random number and the person who commented first, second, third, tenth... etc....will win a little fall treat. Comments for this give away will close tomorrow evening at 9pm! Your fall treat will arrive via snail mail or it will be personally handed to you by me or Charley :) Good luck!

Oh and if you are a follower you get your name in the drawing twice!

ps i have a blog and love getting comments too. i think some people may just be shy b/c they think they don't have something "important" to say. It doesn't have to be important. it's a different way to sort of stay in touch and i encourage alllll my friends to start blogging. it's an organized way to keep your thoughts -almost like a journal or baby book but can also be a discussion board or a venting entry etc. love it-thanks for getting me excited about it Sarah. I just gave you heaps of comments via chat, so I think that should include me in the drawing, but if not, here's my comment.

keep up the good work.

Okay, and it would be just like my sister to find a way to get more chances to win. I think I will keep it that you get your name in once for a comment and once for becoming a follower. nice try sis!

I don't comment on your (or any blog I read) as often as I would like. So thanks for giving me an incentive to leave my 2c. Today I am thankful for... wonderful fall weather and time to take a long quiet walk, seeing parents at my son's school come together to work on the upcoming Book Fair, that I have a little boy who is looking forward to shopping said Book Fair as much as I am, and that I get to spend the evening with my son & husband, while rooting for the Twins and, almost as importantly for a transplanted New Englander and long time Red Sox fan, AGAINST THE YANKEES!!

I like the new background. I love to check in on you guys and read about what you've been up to...the kinds of things that don't usually get brought up during our catch up conversations.

OK, and will you really really give a 'fall treat'? The favorite part of my day today was laughing close to tears during lunch with 3 younger co-workers - it felt great to laugh! "Good Night Irene"

There will really be a fall treat. It will either be delivered or mailed! Promise! And it will be worth it. 9pm tomorrow your chance at the "fall treat" ends! And I will share who the winner is...and I will also share what the treat was once the person has it. FUN! EEEK!

Sarah! I love your blog. I was actually just thinking I haven't read in 2 days! Glad I chose to read today :) I am thankful for a wonderful daycare that not only cares for my kids in a warm environment while I am gone but also does a great job doing a preschool lesson each day. I am always amazed at what they learn. Not me, but close :)

Hey Sarah - I too love to read others blogs. Especially come winter time, helps me feel like their are people going through some of the same things, even if I don't see them that day. So thanks for giving me something fun to read.
I am thankful today that I get to spend the day with both my kiddo's. And that our boys play so well together, what a blessing that is.

I have said this before I think, but I love the way you describe, sometimes with photos, sometimes not, moments from those two dear boys' daily lives.

J- I plan to make another pan of those this fall and I will for sure set aside some for YOU! Or you can come over and we can just split the pan in half...but then we would have to walk of course!
