Yay for me!

I chose to nurse the both of my boys. Formula is expensive and it saved us money. I hate washing bottles so it made life easier. It was a quick fix when you were cranky or needed a little something where ever we were. It was amazing to see that you grew from 7 pounds to 20 pounds in four months because of what I was able to give you. I did it for a long time for both of you. Because I was home and didn't have to pump it was easy to do it much longer with Henry. My days of nursing Henry are done. I am trying not to think about it because it is sad. If we don't have another than that was it. Henry had his little ways about nursing. It was our thing together. My trip to Florida was the ending point. It went really well. And he still snuggles up on me so cuddly.

Nursing was good for me. In the beginning I craved sweets like crazy. Come nap time I was digging through the cupboards for the lone chocolate chip that maybe dropped out of the bag. I could gobble it all up and it didn't seem to do anything to my weight. Nursing was great. So for the last two years I have been eating like I was pregnant (which I know you aren't supposed to eat differently, but heck, that is the fun of it). So now that Henry is weaned I have noticed my weight go up quickly. So I need to change habits that I have had for two years. I made goals to start working out around new years...but it wasn't until this week that I have really decided to get serious. And tonight I have to brag that I have worked out 5 days in a row! Yay for me! I am writing this here because me getting in shape, me getting my knee stronger, me taking time to make myself healthy will ultimately give me more energy and ability to enjoy life with the boys. So I write this so any of my friends who read this can check in with me. I need to keep going. Come spring I can take my walking / exercising outside with the double jogger. I can't wait. But for now...the elliptical machine is calling my name and I am enjoying it. So we'll see how I do this week but I am really really proud to have done 30 minutes 5 days in a row! Woo Hoo!

Yeah Sarah! Your body is finally yours again and is ready to be pampered and taken care of. Congrats on nursing your cuties for so long. It's such a special thing to share with them that you can't understand unless you've done it. I'm proud of you for your goals. Keep it up and I'll be checking in with you! :)
