A Special Friday

Today Daddy took the day off of work so we could go to the apple orchard. Our fall weekends have gotten busy and the weather today looked perfect for a crisp morning picking apples. We picked 20 pounds of apples...sound like more than it really is. Charley and mama will make some apple sauce and an apple pie later today. Henry investigated the apple but of course didn't get any bites....we aren't quite there yet. I am glad Ed was able to take today so we could be a family on a Friday. When Charley was eating his apple out in the orchard he said, "I am happy." I asked him why and he replied, "Because we are at the apple orchard." I love that we have such a reflective son who seems to take in the moments and smell the roses (or the apples). He reminds me to do the same.
