Kickin' it up a notch...

Kickin' it up a notch round these parts.

So blogger made some changes...I didn't expect them.  But other bloggers seem to be struggling to find their rhythm too. (Hola!  Kelle Hampton and Girl's Gone Child)  I have stuck it out with blogger even though I have been tempted to make the switch to wordpress or something snazzy like that.  But I haven't.  I'm happy here.  Hopefully, I will find my stride again.

Google also sold the photo editing site that I had figured out and loved for a long time.  Picnik I miss you.  So yesterday I gave www.picmonkey.com a try and it was fun but different.  The editing tools changed my pictures much more drastically.  But it is free and it is growing and changing and it is easier than the photoshop elements program I got for Christmas.  I am determined to learn it but I just don't have time these days.  So my pictures might be off for a bit.

Henry is broadening his horizons a lot lately.
He started soccer this year.
We are so proud of how he joined his team on Monday night without hesitation.
Henry loves sports and he also benefits from some of this independent activity where mama stands on the sidelines.  He has grown a lot this year with preschool and so we are just enjoying a few of these activities...even though he is a wee bit young to actually master them with much skill.
He was so proud to be out there, just like his brother.

And his brother is out there.
Last fall we took a season off for flag football.
Sounds like that is Charley's hope...fall is for football and spring is for soccer.
All I know, I am happy to see them running around out there,
having a blast,
burning some energy,
and experiencing some of these sports before they take
up more than one night of our week or weekend.

Today we hit the ground running, literally.  I made it to the gym, finally, after missing two mornings due to not setting my alarm, accidentally.  I have to give a shout out to my husband who has been nothing but supportive of my goal of allowing exercise to find a place in my life.
He encourages me to go early in the morning, puts up with my tired self in the evenings, and if I miss the morning workout - he takes on bedtime with all three kiddo's so that I can get there.  Amazing.
I really, really appreciate that he tells me to be safe when I leave in the morning and asks how it was each and every time I return.

The rest of the day consists of preschool drop off and pick up, swimming lessons, a good nap for Sydney ( I hope), cupcake baking, mac and cheese making, and cleaning up the house so I can host a play date tomorrow for our local mom's club.  Dinner will most likely be tilapia and some asparagus and brown rice.

And we're off....

Goings on at the Glenn's said...

photoshop is amazing and one thing that has really helped me is the free photoshop actions that I have found that with just a click of a button they alter and edit your photo to where you want and you just play with the opacity of the layer. Pioneer Woman has a whole series of free ones you can download on her photography site and mcp actions is another one I've used. She has a mini series there as well that is free. I use them for almost every photo I edit. Goodluck

I get photoshop elements and I think you would too. My big problem is the file sizes are too big to use on my blog, have to figure that out...one of these days.
