I think we all felt like this after eating the delicous cake. Slightly confused at what just happened, yearning for more (Henry cried when his piece was gone), and ready for a nap. Last night Ed and I finished off the cake, feeling a little guilty that we should wait until today...but really, last night when we were eating it was exactly when I went into labor a year ago...so I enjoyed the cake and moment remembering.
I am confused about how to properly celebrate today.
A one year old doesn't expect much, if anything on her first birthday.
Saturday was her party, cake, present day.
Today, I feel like is for me.
First BIRTHdays are almost more for the mama.
I will soak it in.
Remember being in the hospital with her daddy and enjoying the quiet and newness of her.
So my hope, to take a few minutes every once in awhile and share a few glimpses of our weekend celebrating our pretty girl.
Man, am I glad we had her. She really is a joy.
So stay tuned. Keep checking back. It is snowing and daddy has been in the car for almost two hours and isn't even half way to work. I hope he has some good sports talk radio on.
