Kid craft - land, air, sea...

Spring is in the air and there is a new energy in our house. Maybe it is the chance of getting outside for some fresh air.

Maybe it is the sunshine potential. Whatever it is...last week we spent some significant time each afternoon gathered around our kitchen table doing some art projects or playing mailbox.

One of the projects we worked on was an idea that a mom in Henry's class shared.

The boys got to paint! YES PAINT! I usually save painting for spring and summer when we can be outside. However, Ed's mom gave us this incredible black table cloth to roll out when the craft bug hits. So painting doesn't seem so scary.

So they painted some land, some water, and some sea.

There's that tongue Mr. Hank!  LOVE IT!

And then they got to sort animals and place them in the world they painted. They had to decide where they spent a majority of their time. The boys loved it. The mom who shared this said they cut out animals from National Geographic type magazines. We didn't have any magazines with animals. But I had an incredible animal sticker book that the boys haven't used much. So away we went.

And you may wonder what Miss Sydney is doing during all this painting and sticker-ing.  Well she is right there on the kitchen table.  Kicking her little legs, squawking every now and then, and thrilled to be part of the action.
