What's for dinner?......Kiss Cookies

I was asked for this recipe so I thought that I would just post it.  This is a great recipe for kids to help with. They can unwrap the candies and then place them on top...and older kids love rolling the dough and adding the sugar!

Cyclops Cookies...otherwise known as Kiss cookies...

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar

In large mixer bowl beat butter and peanut butter with electric mixer on medium speed about 30 seconds.
Add the sugars and beat until fluffy.

1 egg
2 Tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Add egg, milk, and vanilla.
Beat well.

1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda

In medium mixing bowl stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
With mixer on low speed, gradually add flour mixture to peanut butter mixture, beating well.
If necessary, cover and chill about 1 hour for easier handling (sometimes I do this and sometimes I don't.)

Turn oven to 375 degrees.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
Roll in additional sugar.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm.
Immediately press a chocolate kiss atop each cookie.

Makes about 60...if you don't make the balls too large.  I don't usually get 60 but I do get a lot.
