About a week ago my mom popped over for a visit...well it is a good 6 hour drive...but since it was a spur of the moment trip it made it feel like she lived across town and popped over. She arrived on Thursday and that evening we got started with the fun. We were off to the races...
All of us went: Charley, Henry, Daddy, Mommy, and Grandma!
The horse races near us are really kid friendly, there were tons of kids.
Thursday evenings are dollar nights. Hotdogs and nachos are a dollar and there are other little deals I think.
It is free to get into the horse track in our area all summer because they are celebrating 25 years!
We will definitely go again...hopefully with friends!
The boys picked horses, cheered, and sat and watched and took it all in.
It was not more work having them there. Just fun!
Charley and my mom actually picked the winner of the last race that we stayed for. So they split their winnings and Charley deposited it into his piggy bank when he got home.

LOVE this. makes me want to go. i can remember it so clearly and thinking all the tickets that weren't winners on the ground MIGHT just be winners. haha! remember going with Grandma, mom and pat? RR
