I'm Just Sayin'

So I woke up this morning and looked forward to peeking at a few of my favorite blogs.  And lately this blog called It Feels Like Chaos has made me smile the last few mornings.  Love when I find another blog that is 'real'.  So today her post was called I'm just sayin'.  And as I read it I totally had inspiration - that I have been lacking lately - evidenced by the lack of blogging.  So I am giving her TOTAL credit for the idea of this I'm Just Sayin' post. She even has a link that explains the value of this phrase!  Go check her blog out....I'm Just sayin'!

Lately, well since it was so hot and our air was broken, Charley has taken to sleeping in just his underwear.  When he wakes up he is happy as a clam running around in just his little unders.  He even eats breakfast like that.  In many ways it kind of grosses me out, but then it is also kind of adorable seeing batman or Yoda skitter off to find the must have lego piece.

I need to document it so someday I have some evidence of this little stage in his life.  And at some point - this stage WILL come to an end.  Sooner than later!    I'm just sayin'.

If we keep our kids up until 9 or 10 enjoying some good old betting to win, place, or show at the horse races.  I would expect them to sleep in until at least 8 am.  Waking at their normal time 6:15 is just not acceptable.  I'm just sayin'.

The idea of summer is so exciting.  The expanse of 3 long months - waiting to be filled with fun and adventure.   About a month ago our weekends were all free.  Now they are all full.  I WILL NOT let the busy weekends make the summer zip by.

I.  WILL. NOT.
I'm just sayin'.

Henry has been pretty accident free for his so far short life.  But in the last week he fell off a swing and bit his lip pretty bad, whacked his chin pretty hard on a folding chair, fell over on the street and gave his forehead a nice skid mark, and has tripped more than 3 times on our driveway!   If you see my son wearing a helmet and knee pads at inappropriate times....THEY. ARE. APPROPRIATE
I'm just sayin'.

I so, so, so wish the logic of keeping your kids up so they sleep in worked. WHY DOESN'T IT?! My hubby says the only way to "sleep in" now is to go to bed early.

Thanks for the compliments and go head, by all means feel free to run with the I'm Just Sayin'. I'm glad I could provide some inspiration!

And, my kids are like clock-work with their wake up times. They cannot sleep in, no matter how late they stay up; they still wake at 6:45am and then are just crabby the next day! There is a little light on the horizon, though, my 7 year old is old enough now that we can tell him -- "Don't come down until 7:30am on Saturdays" and he can even entertain the toddler that shares his room for a little while to let us stay in bed longer!

That whole going to bed later should equal rising later thing makes me crazy. It never fails... the girls stay up late, they wake up earlier!

Yes staying up later never equates to sleeping in. In our house it usually means rising even earlier, which I never understand.
When you said Henry has been pretty accident free - my mind went to potty training right away. Because that is where my mind was at, funny:)
