Friday thoughts

Mom of the year....I made one real dinner this week. The rest of the week the boys had cereal or random odd things...like a bowl of popcorn. There is an explanation...I am getting my act together though.

I bought something at Micheal's craft store the other day and it rang up at $2.18 and I don't carry cash so I had to use my check card thingy. She asked to see identification. No, not to check my signature...she wanted to see my license. Funny how a friend can have her credit card stolen and used at Target for over $600 dollars worth of purchases and her card isn't checked...but at Micheal's...for a $2.18 purchase I had to dig around for my license....not sure if I was glad or annoyed.

It has rained a lot this week. Makes for getting boy energy out hard. So today I am going to chance skipping Henry's nap and let them have a quiet afternoon together. We'll see if this backfires. We are meeting a new babysitter this afternoon ...I predict he will be in rare form.

I keep having dreams about random high school people that I didn't even know. They are stressful dreams. I don't understand.

I love this song SOOOO much. It isn't available yet on the music player for my blog.

**************

I want to go to Lilith Fair July 18th here in Minnesota.  Anyone wanna go see Sarah Mclachlin!  She is my all time favorite...you know the question "If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only bring one music cd, what would you bring?"  I would bring hers!  I LOVE HER MUSIC!

I went many years ago with my sister and mom and it was an awesome experience!  Let me know!

**************

Can't wait for soccer tomorrow.  Charley is in charge of bringing snack...since it is raining today we will turn it into entertainment.  We are going to bake cupcakes and top them with gummy sneakers.

I love my husband.  He puts up with my quirky little dealings these days.

Yesterday, Henry was telling daddy something at dinner and he started it with, "My mama had doctor appointment." (doc appointment was for a heart monitor that I had to wear.  Heart palipatations etc.)  I have these moments when I look at my boys and I realize that I am REALLY a mom.  They are my children.  I am in charge of making their childhood happy and fulfilled so they can go out into the world as contributing safe citizens.  The things I do for them daily, the tiny things, are things that they will remember.  I am their mom.  This isn't playing house in the basement when I was 7.  This is real.  I can't believe it most days.  It is a huge responsibility.  I am grateful.  I wonder what they will remember.

**************

It is 1 o'clock and I haven't even started prepping lunch.  The boys were set on having hard boiled eggs this morning so they didn't eat until almost 9...and they are busy playing.  I am so unmotivated when it comes to my kitchen lately.

**************

I have double booked picnics, play dates, lunch outings, babysitters, and other stuff lately.  I need to get my calendar organization figured out.  It is stressing me out.

Last night I watched Glee!  They are rerunning the season on Thursday nights this summer.  I am so excited to have something new and fun to watch.  I hate summer TV...even though we are often too busy or too tired.  But it is nice to have something to zone out to.
**************

Okay, time to go feed them something.... Happy Weekending!

It's crazy being a mother. I still look at mine and think the same thing at times. This is real. They are mine. Wow...
I hope you are feeling okay. xoxo
