Tomorrow will be full of "Get to" moments
Lately, I have been waking before the boys and have been using those minutes to catch up on emails and blogs so when the boys rise from their long night of slumber, full of energy, I am ready to give them my full attention and I am not distracted by this machine, that I must admit, I am slightly addicted to.
When I read posts like this one from the blog titled Moments With Love I am reminded to absorb each moment the day will bring. It is a single blog post like this one from the blog This Isn't Getting Any Easier that reminds me that these days as a mother of two are flying by so fast.
So tomorrow when we wake in our house, we have no where to be, no one we are committed to. Tomorrow will be a day full of "get to moments". I have written about the "get to" moments as a mom. Tomorrow I will pay a little closer attention to....
....hearing Charley pitter pat into the bathroom and then bound back to his bed to wait until a 7 appears on his clock.
.....hearing Henry yell, "MAMA!" when he is ready to get up.
.....lifting him up and out of his crib and having him respond, "Charley? stairs?"
.....making them breakfast and listening to them be silly while they gobble it up.
.....helping them pick out their clothes (it won't be long until I have no say in this).
.....deciding on what we will do with our time.
.....getting down and playing farm with Henry.
.....listening to Charley tell me about something Star Wars while I load the dishwasher.
.....a game of Go Fish, Uno, or Sorry.
.....zipping jackets and buckling seat belts.
.....changing Henry's diaper as he lays and and babbles about everything and anything.
.....reading stories and rocking Henry before naptime.
.....listening to the boys squeal when they here daddy walk through the door.
.....dinnertime as a family.
.....and so on.
Tomorrow I get to be a mom, a mom of two boys who I get to spend my days raising. Tomorrow I will wake up to the gift of a positive perspective and I will see more 'get' to moments than 'got' to moments.
What do you "get to" do tomorrow?

That is such a powerful post. Thank you for reminding me to stop and hear the pitter patter around my house.
A great reminder.
I get to stay home with my lovely baby girl and do whatever we feel like. How's that for a precious gift?!
What a great perspective! I am going to remember that-as I often feel like I am rushing from here to there-& forgetting the precious kiddos I am privilaged to raise.
Well said. Thanks
it's so true! we GET to be mommies and it's the best job ever...even with all it's hard twists and turns.
Oh wow! That is so true and isn't it awesome how just altering one ounce of perspective can change it all!!! Amazing! Thanks for sharing!
I need to remember the "Get To" moments. Thanks for the reminder. So many of these little things will be gone too fast.
My heart is refreshed by your words reminding me of all the little joys that make up this life as mom. Thank you.
awesome! thanks for the reminder!
Thank you for the reminder to live life with them!!!
What a sweet post and a gentle remdinder to my own heart to slow down and absorb each precious day I have with my children.

'get to' instead of 'got to' I love that. It's amazing that no matter how many times I read posts like this....I always need them. Thank you.
Thanks.
I read the post you linked about the smell of babies. I was just thinking about this last night when I couldn't put Sim into his crib because I kept nuzzling myself in his neck and breathing him in. It is the most amazing smell.
Hope your day is going well and you are enjoying all you "get to" do. :)
Love, Love, Love this post! Great job. Thanks for being such a great example of what it really means to be a good mom...all those get to moments!
love this idea! thank you for sharing and may you enjoy and revel in all of your "get to" moments!
Amazing!
So true, and it's amazing how much better a day goes when you approach it as an opportunity rather than a chore. Thanks for the link! :) Kudos to you for getting up before your kids do; I'm still working on that one.
Your perspective is inspiring! Thanks for sharing this with us today!
I've used "get to" often in my life, but many times when I suggest it to others they still moan and grumble............. this topic could go on and on. We get to: eat with loved ones, live in the Midwest, go to work, drive a car, people watch, listen to music, read and read some more, take bubble baths, call a friend, pray. It's endless, all the positive "get to" things we have in our lives. Thanks for the reminder! Can't wait to see all of you guys soon.
Thats so sweet. Sometimes I get irritated with all my "get to's". But I really should remember that this time is fleeting.
today i GOT to watch my son learn to MOVE/crawl. SO FUN. i also GOT to watch my husband get excited about it. also-this weekend i GET to hang out with my sister, my mom and my nephews-all the lil guys together! RR
Refreshing perspective. Thank you for this post.
What a great perspective. I'm going to try it. Today, I 'get to' play in the snow with my children and then we 'get to' drink hot cocoa together to warm up. I am a lucky woman.
That's a great 30 minute post... love the sweet words and the photograph is just perfect... Have a great week!
