"Not Me" Monday!

We have our boys trained really well. When Ed watches a football game or other sporting event, and a commercial comes on that is questionable or not appropriate for children, Charley will turn away from the TV or even run and hide behind something. He often does it on his own. He also encourages Henry to follow suit. LOVE IT! However, during the Super Bowl commercials my husband and I did not get swept up in the Go Daddy commercial....and both boys DID NOT watch it too - and Henry did not say afterwards, "Go Daddy!" Nope, that's not me..the mom who is paranoid over violent commercials but yet let's them watch commercials that don't respect women.

On Friday I didn't spend the morning sitting around a table with other mom's discussing threats, bribes, rewards etc and how they don't work. When we got home I didn't demand that the boys help clean up - and when they chose to wrestle instead - I DID NOT over react and threaten, bribe, and offer rewards to get them to help. When they still didn't help, I didn't lose it and raise my voice. Nope, not me. And then feeling so terrible for not stepping back and taking a deep breath - I didn't cut their lunches into heart shapes to remind them that I love them - because food fixes everything. Nope, not me - I always keep my cool.

Once the boys are in bed I don't grab my laptop and a glass of water and hightail it upstairs to our bedroom where I cozy in and enjoy a little mindless TV or blog time. I DO NOT ditch my husband downstairs - where he can enjoy his TV or computer choices. Nope, not me!
