Time to Get up....The difference

So this morning I once again snapped at Ed during the 15 minutes we pass each other in the morning and I know he is puzzled as to why I wake up so crabby. He also knows to have his phone close at hand because without a doubt his loving, but crabby wife, will call him and apologize ten minutes into his silent commute.

This morning I came to the realization that he gets up and takes a shower, irons his clothes, eats his breakfast or packs his lunch etc. When I wake up ... it is to either a crying Hank or an almost 4 year old shouting for "Daddy" and I get the joy of telling him that Daddy is leaving for work in minutes. Then I am thrown into the day.

Now this morning was amazing, both boys came down and began the day occupied by our masking tape town. Charley amazed me when Hurricane Hank escaped his cage and tore apart the train and zoo. Then they played catch...yes Henry seems to know how to try to throw the ball to someone.

I am not complaining at all that I have to wake up to my favorite boys. And I know the solution is to wake up and have some quiet me time before they wake. And with Henry sleeping through the night like a champ I think that is more and more possible. But, it does explain why I would be crabby at my showered, teeth brushed, dressed husband as I try and convince Charley that he can't wear what he wore yesterday, and that Mama's diner isn't open until 8am -- meanwhile, I wipe the sleep from my eyes.

Good Morning kiddos! Our day has started and I appreciate with all my heart that it starts with you two...and my husband of course!

Oh Sarah I can soooo relate. I get the tiredness, the wanting to wake up when your body is actually ready and the need for 5 minutes in the morning but the desire for sleep usually takes front court. It's awesome that you are real and you share these NORMAL feelings with others yet you are also able to reflect and figure it all out. You are such an AWESOME person!
