So today we were out rushing around trying to find the best price for a double jogger. I have this need for one...even though there are only 2 more months of possible good weather. But my goal this year is to have my boys outside for more than 15 minutes each day...an hour until it snows. So a walk would be nice. Charley is so into hiking and nature right now. YEAH!
Anyways...one of the stops for pricing was Toys R Us...and CHarley knew this. But then I called to make our errands shorter and they didn't have the strollers we were interested in. Charley insisted that we still go there. I made him promise that he understood that we weren't buying any toys today. And that if he cried or had a tantrum he would for sure have to nap (since today is one of his days that he doesn't normally nap because of school- but there was no school today).
Charley was outstanding. I couldn't have been more proud. HE walked excitedly through the aisles pointing things out and telling me he wanted them for his birthday -that is coming up in a little over a week. He even left the store with the comment, "It is sad to leave this store." But that was it! It is actually really fun to walk through a store like that with a 3 year old because you can just feel the excitement radiating off of them. However, I will not be doing that again anytime soon. I am betting that next time I would have an all out battle to leave without something in our cart. SO I won't push my luck.
So honey, the guy I snapped at this morning, you will be glad to know that there are no new toys in our house today because of our journey to Toys R Us. However, we really are looking forward to the assembly of the new stroller!
