"Not Me" Monday

There are times when I have my kids buckled in and content in the car. And during these times I don't choose to drive around the block a couple times or take the LOOOOOOOONG route because they are quiet, content, strapped in, and occupied. Nope, not me!
----------------------------------------
I am trying to watch my portion sizes...and I have been doing really good - not taking seconds at dinner etc. I don't ever finish what is on my child's plate and not count it when thinking about what I ate for the day...and occasionally - I don't hurry them to be done so I can have their last bite of something. Nope, not me.
----------------------------------------
My husband and I had the opportunity to go out to dinner and to a movie on Saturday night...while Grandma watched our little ones. We didn't spend 15 minutes sitting in the cold car trying to decide what restaurant....because when it comes to deciding on eating my decision making skills go out the window because it could be my last meal. And then when we were told it would be a 10 minute wait we settled down at the bar for a cocktail. Two glasses of wine later I didn't get riled up and convince my husband that it was wrong that they said it would be 10 minutes...when actually it was an hour and we still hadn't been given any indication that our table was near ready. Nope, we didn't waste our date night and pay our bar bill and go home without eating. Nope, I didn't blow our Valentine's/ Birthday dinner out.  Nope, not me!

....and as for the movie...Nope, I am not an old fuddy dud and claim that an 8:50 movie was WAAAAAAAAY too late.

they said 10 minutes and it was over an HOUR?! I would have thrown a fit too (especially after 2 glasses of wine!)

Um, YES, a 8:50pm movie is too late! That's why we didn't see a movie on Valentine's Weekend. What were you going to see?

I did not recommend to a friend, that on particularly rough days, a nice long car ride would be a way to get some silence, er, sanity, er, stress reduction. I did not do this as we were having bible study in her basement while listening to her kids WAIL upstairs. For 20 minutes. ANd her face, of coarse, during this time, was one of peace and calm, as all mother's are.
