Okay, one of my very favorite blogs to read is this one. And she posted about piano music today. I LOVE piano music. I play it alot around here because it makes me feel calm and I truly think it helps the boys calm too. Anyways, there were a ton of links but this one I did click on and boy am I glad I did. AMAZING. Worth it. TOTALLY. The transition from one song to the next. And watching the two guys play. Just love it. Definitely worth a listen. At the end he explains how he came about playing the songs together for his 7 year old daughter.



I hope that one of my children shows interest in piano.  Everytime Charley asks for drums, and he does every birthday and Christmas, I tell him he has to start with the piano.  I think it would be a fun talent to have in your pocket for life. 


It is Thursday morning.  We were supposed to go on a playdate this morning.  But Charley has hints of a cold coming on.  Sydney didn't nap yesterday but slept incredible last night and just woke up.  So we are hunkering in for a day of cozy play.  It is really disappointing that there is no snow out there.  And really no predictions for much in the near future.  Unbelievable.  I will say that it is because my good friend bought a snow blower around Thanksgiving and I bought some new SNOW boots.  So, why would it snow now!?

On November 16th the new Norah Jones album titled Featuring became available! 
I was a lucky blogger who got a copy in advanced so I could listen and share my thoughts on the CD.
I am not a professional CD reviewer - so I can just tell you what I thought.

Norah Jones has always been a favorite.  Her old CD Come Away With Me is still a favorite that I put on and listen to during the dusk hours when the boys are running havoc in the house and I am trying to be mellow and make dinner and finish the day.  A glass of wine is always a great accompaniment. 

After I received the CD Featuring, I popped it in and must have had my player on shuffle because song 4 came on and how ironic that it is still my FAVORITE on the CD.  It features Willie Nelson  and Norah singing the song Baby It's Cold Outside. 

The CD has 18 tunes showing her range and ability to enjoy all types of music.  It definitely has songs that I like more than others but when you have a CD loaded with 18 songs you know you are going to find a good number that you love.  The wide variety of artists she teams up with shows her diverse musical abilities.

It was once again a CD that I put on and forgot I was supposed to be listening to because it was easy and consistent. 

A definite holiday stocking stuffer! 

Thoughts on music and other random things...

So it is there....at the bottom.  You just have the choice to turn it on or keep it off.  It shouldn't play automatically now.

By the way...I am not neglecting my family today - with the blogging I have done.  We had our "Christmas" day yesterday.  We were expecting to travel today.  So we have just had a relaxing day at home...which means...a few stolen moments to putter around on here.

Christmas music...and other random thoughts...

The other day I shared a few children's books that I enjoy. On the music player at the bottom of my blog I have now picked a few of my favorite Christmas songs. I think every year I buy one album to add to my collection...at least I have the last couple years. This year I bought the Jim Brickman Cd available at Target. I have been loving piano music for the last year so I kept with that theme.

The first song playing on my blog right now is 2000 Miles by the Pretenders. Ed and I danced to a different Pretender's song for our first dance at our wedding. This 2000 Miles song is Ed's VERY FAVORITE Christmas song. He loves it. I remember the first time he played it for me...they were throwing a holiday party the first year we had graduated from college and with all the crazy early 20's fun going on all around us he danced with me in the living room. I love that this song makes him smile.

I hope you are finding holiday spirit in your life right now. I am trying to focus less on baking - the last few years I have gone way overboard on the holiday baking. I don't need all those sweets in the house, because we all know who nibbles them up - Yep! ME!

I am also trying to think "less is more" this holiday for shopping for our boys. They are blessed and loved by so many- their mama can calm down a little on their holiday shopping.

I am determined to work on teaching gratitude and giving with Charley. He is at that ripe age where it is ME! ME! MEEEEE! I have some plans and I will share as we start attacking the "greed monster." I know it is natural and I know it is normal - but I would love to have a not normal child when it comes to this. We'll see what I can do...I have about two weeks before the festivities begin for our family.

Finally, Henry's pooping schedule right now is about 2:30 in the afternoon - DAMN that is annoying! It wakes him an hour early from his nap. What is there to do about this...but hope for a change in the bowel movements. Too much info???? sorry! Couldn't help it..he is waking right now with a stinky little package for me!
